Throughout the Cramps’ career Poison Ivy co-wrote (with Lux Interior and occasionally other band members) all of the group’s original songs, and provided the often unorthodox arrangements for songs they covered. She produced or co-produced several of their albums and singles, sang on the songs “Kizmiaz” and “Get Off the Road,” and played theremin on later records. In conjunction with her guitar playing, Ivy’s redheaded beauty, sexy outfits, and ice-cool onstage demeanor have made her an eternal and influential icon of rock’n’roll style.
